Abstract
This compilation is most impressive. It includes important documents from way back the pre-conquest era to documents written in the 1800s. There are tarsilas that trace the genealogies of royal families, chronicles of Spanish colonizers and missionaries, the reports of foreign travelers...by presenting these primary source materials, the book compilers and editors have made it possible to integrate "Muslim historical experience to the discourse of Philippine history"

This collection illustrates what the Spaniards have done to create our current problems. But while revisiting the past is necessary exercise, it should be clear that we cannot live in the past. We all came from our Malayo-Polynesian roots, from freedom to colonialism to freedom. Now our history is in our hands. We should create a beautiful history, our own creation.
