Abstract
Like a body without a soul, is the way Pope John Paul II describes the Rosary without contemplation, citing Paul VI, "without it, the recitation (of the Rosary) runs the risk of becoming a mechanical repetition formulas, in violation of the admonition of Christs: "In praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think they will be heard for their many words' (Mt 6:7)." Deep reflection, then on the mysteries of the lives of Jesus and Mary are the heart and soul of the Rosary. One moves gradually from a mediocre life of grace to a move intimate union with God.
